The Association of Banks in Lebanon hosted a lunch in honor of the new Lebanese banking control commission, chairman and members. It was held at the Phoenicia Hotel, Eau de Vie restaurant in the presence of H.E. Mrs. Raya El Hasan, State Treasury, H.E. Mr. Riad Salameh, BDL’s Governor, and eminent bankers and members of the press. Dr. Joseph Torbey, Chairman of the Association, delivered a speech where he congratulated the new Members whishing them the best of achievements.

The Association of Banks in Lebanon organized a lunch at the Phoenicia Intercontinental Hotel-Eau de Vie restaurant, to honor H.E. Mr. Adnan Kassar, State Minister in the current Government. Bankers, Government Officials and Presidents of economic bodies attended the lunch. The Chairman of the Association, Dr. Joseph Torbey, welcomed the participants and delivered a speech honoring President Kassar, his note included among other things, …”H.E. Mr. Kassar is the excellent representative of the economic community and highly keen on Lebanon’s supreme interests and those of production partners…..”.

On the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Association of Banks in Lebanon, a dinner gala was held at the Phoenicia Intercontinental on the 6th of November. Many political, banking and financial officials attended the dinner, along with judicial authorities and Presidents of Economic organizations. Representative of the diplomatic body, bankers and journalist were also present.

In the frame of the program of activities pertaining to ABL 50th Anniversary and prepared by the Secretariat General, a TV spot of 60 seconds was produced promoting the authenticity of the Lebanese Banking Sector, its soundness, modernization and its role in the economic development of the country. TV spot was broadcast on all local TV stations from November 7th till December 31st, 2009.
