Blom Bank Honors Outstanding Students and Offers Scholarships Worth 100,000 U.S. dollars

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hassan Diab, Blom Bank organized, for the fourth consecutive year, a ceremony to honor the first 100 winners of the Lebanese baccalaureate 2013,  which was held on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the Unesco Palace - Beirut.

Mr. Saad Azhari, CEO of Blom Bank warmly congratulated the students for their distinction and success in 2013, and wished them further success and progress in their academic, professional and personal live. He added: “Honoring the first 100 Lebanese Baccalaureate is our assessment of these students’ curriculum and our motivation to excellence in education. This step is part of Blom Bank involvement in the development of human resources”.

During the ceremony, a presentation of "Blomshabeb" program (Blom Youth) took place. This is one of the most important initiatives taken by the Blom Bank and was launched in 2010 to help young Lebanese to receive better guidance on planning their future and ensuring employment, secured with a chain of services and guidance . This program is designed for students and postgraduate students, which provides advice and guidance to choose a discipline that suits them. The program includes services related to their careers, many activities in the chosen area, and a variety of useful information.

During the ceremony, a documentary was featured on the testimonies of students, teachers and specialists who stressed the importance of "Blomshabeb" for today's society. The ceremony also included the distribution of cash prizes to the top 100 winners.

Also, a draw was held on university scholarships. The lucky winners are: Nadim Sadek, Maryam Fares, Sandra Howayek, Antonio Melhem and Hawra’ Raouf.

The value of grants and scholarships distributed during the event amounted to 100,000 US dollars.
