Byblos Bank granted awards to the winners of the Entrepreneurship Contest during a ceremony held at its Headquarters in Ashrafieh. Looking to develop a sense of initiative among young students, the Bank launched this competition in March in cooperation with Kafalat and the Antonine University-Faculty of Business Administration.
Fifteen teams participated in the contest and five won based on the following criteria: innovative idea and its viability, compelling feasibility study, exhaustive marketing strategy, and consistent, well-structured and well-written business plan. The winning projects were: Tratour, C Caviar, Overnight Car Care, Fun City, and Leb Tourism. Tratour is a concept to promote rural tourism. C Caviar is a restaurant where clients are invited to live a caviar experience. Overnight Car Care is a garage that provides overnight car services for working people. Fun City is an entertainment center that offers various entertaining services. And Leb Tourism is a website that offers a virtual tour in Lebanon.
During the event, Byblos Bank, UPA, and Kafalat’s words emphasized the need to join hands to encourage youth entrepreneurship, unleash their potentials, develop their skills, and provide them with support and proper financing to launch their own projects.
Through this competition, Byblos Bank aims at pushing youth to undertake initiatives and start up business projects that contribute to simulating the Lebanese economy. This will also help build capacities of young generations, create job opportunities for skillful young graduates, and stop the brain drain in Lebanon.
