The ABL Board of Directors held an emergency meeting today to discuss the decision of the Federation of Syndicates of Bank Employees in Lebanon to call for an open strike starting tomorrow Tuesday November 12, 2019.

The Association of Banks in Lebanon would like to thank all banks employees for their dedication and hard work in the past two weeks under the very hard and demanding conditions.

The ABL denounces the verbal and physical abuse to which some employees were exposed.

The ABL affirms that it will work with officials on finding a normal work framework that would protect the employees’ dignity and ensure their protection, given that this is a priority for banks.

The ABL Board of Directors will immediately communicate with the Federation of Syndicates of Bank Employees to discuss the current situation.
