In response to the news spreading on social media platforms about the closure of banks after the holidays and the stopping of cash payments in foreign currencies, the President of the ABL Dr. Salim Sfeir affirmed that these news are nothing but rumors that unfortunately fall within the deplorable campaign targeting the Lebanese banking sector during this critical period that Lebanon is witnessing. He added that banks are focusing on preserving the citizens’ deposits, awaiting the formation of a new government to start addressing the fundamental causes behind the current economic and financial crisis.
