The Association of Banks in Lebanon strongly condemns all kind of attacks, especially the explosions and vandalism suffered by banks’ branches yesterday in some Lebanese regions, along with personal threats against banks’ managers and board members. The ABL also believes that these criminal acts threatening the stability of both the national security and the security of the sector’s personnel will not contribute in any way to solving the financial and monetary issues of the country in these difficult times, and will not allow banks to resume their normal activity and meet the needs of their clients. The ABL urges the concerned authorities to prosecute the perpetrators of these criminal acts against banks, and to bring them to justice so that they receive the sanctions they deserve.
