Condemning the attack on the headquarter of the Lebanese Swiss Bank (LSB) in Hamra on Monday the 28th of June 2021 initiated by a group belonging to a charity, as well as the attack on the bank’s employees, and according to the decision taken by the concerned bank, the Association of Banks in Lebanon announces the following:

First, the ABL condemns the attack on the Lebanese Swiss Bank’s employees and clients and any kind of physical and moral violence to which they were subjected, as well as the acts of vandalism committed by the aggressors damaging the bank’s files. The ABL wishes the injured a speedy recovery.

Second, the ABL calls on the security forces and the judiciary to pursue every person involved in these acts and bring them to justice, and to provide the necessary conditions for the functioning of the banking sector and the safety of its employees and clients.

Third, all operative banks in Lebanon will be close on Tuesday the 29th of June 2021 in solidarity with the Lebanese Swiss Bank and its employees.
